Lisette Vlassak (1993) is een Nederlandse regisseur met een gelaagde, metaforische en visueel gedreven vertelstijl. In haar werk verkent ze mentale kwetsbaarheid en schept ze werelden waarin ze niet alleen haar eigen angsten onder ogen komt, maar ook de kijker uitdaagt te voelen wat zich onder het oppervlak afspeelt.

Haar afstudeerfilm Cocon, gemaakt tijdens haar opleiding aan de Nederlandse Filmacademie, verkende thema’s als identiteit en zelfacceptatie en markeerde het begin van haar makerschap. Vanuit deze basis bouwde Lisette een veelzijdige carrière op binnen jeugddrama, korte fictie en webseries. Ze regisseerde uiteenlopende projecten, waaronder De Pestvlogs, No Monnie, Not Done, Broodje Aap, Er zijn grenzen (Zapp) en de Efteling-serie rond de attractie Danse Macabre.

Met haar filmdebuut Onderaards, gesteund door De Ontmoeting, NTR en Netflix, verkende ze het genre van de psychologische thriller en horror. De film beleefde zijn internationale première op het 58e Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia (Sitges IFFFC).

Na acht jaar Amsterdam keerde Lisette terug naar Brabant, waar ze dichter bij zichzelf nieuwe verhalen ontwikkelt — kwetsbaarder, gelaagder en met ruimte voor het onuitgesprokene.

Lisette Vlassak (1993) is a Dutch director known for her layered, metaphorical, and visually driven storytelling. Her work explores mental vulnerability and creates worlds in which she not only confronts her own fears but also challenges the audience to feel what lies beneath the surface.

Her graduation film Cocon, made during her studies at the Netherlands Film Academy, explored themes of identity and self-acceptance and marked the beginning of her career as a filmmaker. From this foundation, Lisette built a versatile body of work in youth drama, short fiction, and web series. She has directed a wide range of projects, including De Pestvlogs, No Monnie, Not Done, Broodje Aap, Er zijn grenzen (Zapp), and the Efteling series centered on the attraction Danse Macabre.

With her debut short film Onderaards, supported by De Ontmoeting, NTR, and Netflix, she explored the genres of psychological thriller and horror. The film had its international premiere at the 58th Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia (Sitges IFFFC).

After eight years in Amsterdam, Lisette returned to Brabant, where she develops new stories closer to herself — more vulnerable, layered, and with space for the unspoken.
